Privacy Policy

Effective September 21, 2026 · Version 1.0

This Privacy Policy explains how Klaritee Focus handles information when you visit the site, create an account, submit a contract for analysis, use reports and exports, redeem complimentary access, or purchase full access.

1. Scope

This Policy applies to Klaritee Focus and the public pages that support it. It describes information processed by Klaritee in connection with Focus and information processed by service providers used to operate authentication, payments, database functions, hosting, and related infrastructure.

This Policy does not control the independent privacy practices of websites or services you choose to visit outside Focus.

2. The short version

  • Contract text is processed to produce the analysis you request.
  • Focus does not write submitted contract text to its database as a permanent contract record.
  • Focus does not train a model on the contract text you submit.
  • Klaritee does not sell your submitted contract text or personal information.
  • Account and authentication information is processed through Clerk.
  • Payments are processed through Stripe.
  • Usage, entitlement, and complimentary-access records are stored in Neon.
  • Infrastructure providers may process technical information necessary to deliver and secure the service.

3. Contract text and submitted documents

When you submit contract text to Focus, that text is processed for the analysis you requested. The analysis system examines the submitted text, applies the current deterministic rules and registered terms, and returns the resulting findings, views, reports, or other artifacts.

Focus is designed so that submitted contract text is not written to the Focus database as a persistent contract record. Klaritee does not use submitted contract text to train, fine-tune, or improve a model.

“Not stored as a persistent contract record” does not mean that no computer involved in delivering the service can ever transiently handle the text. Network, hosting, browser, security, or infrastructure systems may temporarily process request data as necessary to transmit, execute, protect, diagnose, or complete the requested analysis. Klaritee does not intentionally use those transient technical processes to create a permanent library of your contracts.

4. Analysis results and reports

Focus generates results from the contract you submit. Reports and artifacts may be displayed in your current session or made available for download. You are responsible for storing any report, export, redline, certificate, or other output you want to keep.

Focus may store limited operational identifiers, usage events, hashes, fingerprints, or entitlement-related records needed to operate the product, enforce usage rules, recognize reruns, maintain integrity features, or prevent duplicate counting. Those records are not intended to function as a stored copy of the contract itself.

5. Account information

When you create or use an account, account and authentication information may include your name, email address, profile image, user identifier, session information, authentication events, and related account metadata.

Focus uses Clerk for authentication and account management. Clerk processes information necessary to sign you in, maintain sessions, protect accounts, and provide account management functions. Klaritee receives the account identifiers and information needed to associate your Focus usage and access rights with the correct account.

6. Usage information

Focus records limited usage information needed to operate product limits and entitlements. This may include the authenticated user identifier, usage period, new-contract counts, rerun or duplicate status, sequence information, timestamps, and other records required to determine whether an analysis counts against a usage allowance.

These records allow Focus to distinguish a new contract from a rerun, apply the free monthly allowance, and provide unrestricted use to accounts with full access.

7. Paid access and billing information

Paid access is processed through Stripe-hosted Checkout. Payment details such as your full card number and card security code are provided directly to Stripe and are not required by Klaritee to determine whether your Focus account has paid access.

Klaritee may receive and retain limited transaction information such as a Stripe checkout or payment identifier, payment status, purchase metadata, the account identifier credited by the purchase, and the fact that a paid entitlement exists.

Payment and entitlement records may be retained as necessary to provide paid access, reconcile transactions, respond to payment disputes, prevent fraud, and meet accounting or legal obligations.

8. Complimentary access

If you redeem a complimentary access code, Focus stores a record linking the authenticated user identifier to the normalized code used and the time access was granted. This allows complimentary access to remain active after redemption and allows Klaritee to understand which approved code granted access.

Complimentary access records do not contain your submitted contract text and do not create a Stripe payment entitlement.

9. Technical and device information

Like most web services, Focus and the providers used to deliver it may process technical information generated by your browser, device, network, and requests. This can include IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, request timestamps, referring or destination pages, session information, error information, security events, and similar technical data.

This information may be used to deliver pages and application functions, protect the service, diagnose errors, detect abuse, maintain availability, and investigate security incidents.

10. Cookies and similar technologies

Focus and its authentication providers may use cookies, local storage, session tokens, or similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in, preserve session state, protect against abuse, and operate account features.

Klaritee does not describe necessary authentication or security technologies as optional advertising cookies. If optional analytics, advertising, or additional tracking technologies are introduced in the future, this Policy and any required consent controls may be updated before those technologies are used where required by law.

11. How Klaritee uses information

Klaritee may use information processed through Focus to:

  • authenticate users and maintain accounts;
  • perform the contract analysis requested by the user;
  • generate findings, reports, exports, and integrity records;
  • apply usage allowances and distinguish new analyses from reruns;
  • provide paid or complimentary access;
  • process and reconcile purchases;
  • protect Focus against fraud, abuse, attacks, unauthorized access, and circumvention;
  • diagnose faults, maintain service reliability, and improve product operations;
  • respond to account, billing, privacy, security, and legal requests; and
  • comply with applicable law and enforce the Terms of Service.

12. What Klaritee does not do with your contract text

Klaritee does not sell your submitted contract text. Klaritee does not use your submitted contract text to train a model. Klaritee does not intentionally build a permanent contract repository from the documents submitted through the current Focus analysis experience.

The product may evolve to support user-selected persistence or user-controlled storage. If a feature later allows you to connect or choose persistent storage, the applicable product interface and policy language should identify that choice.

13. Service providers

Klaritee uses service providers to operate Focus. Current product functions include Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, Neon for database infrastructure, and hosting or infrastructure providers used to run and deliver the application.

These providers may process information on Klaritee's behalf or as otherwise described in their own terms and privacy notices. Klaritee provides or permits access to information only to the extent reasonably necessary for the relevant service function, subject to the provider's role and the technical design of the service.

14. Disclosure for legal, safety, and integrity reasons

Klaritee may disclose information when it reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to comply with law, legal process, a valid governmental request, or a binding order; protect the rights, safety, and security of Klaritee, users, or others; investigate fraud or abuse; enforce the Terms; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

Klaritee may also preserve information when legally required to do so or when reasonably necessary for an active security, fraud, billing, or legal investigation.

15. Business transfers

If Klaritee is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, sale, restructuring, reorganization, transfer of assets, or similar transaction, information associated with Focus may be disclosed or transferred as part of that transaction, subject to applicable law and the commitments that apply at the time.

16. Retention

Klaritee retains categories of information for different periods depending on why the information exists. Submitted contract text is not intended to be retained as a permanent contract record in the Focus database. Account, authentication, usage, entitlement, complimentary-access, transaction, security, and operational records may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Focus, maintain access rights, prevent abuse, reconcile transactions, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and satisfy legal or accounting obligations.

Backup, security, and infrastructure systems may retain limited information for a reasonable period after deletion or expiration from an active system where immediate deletion is not technically practical.

17. Security

Klaritee uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of Focus and the information it processes. Product design choices that minimize persistent storage of submitted contract content are part of the security approach.

No method of transmission, hosting environment, authentication system, database, or software product can be guaranteed completely secure. You are responsible for protecting your account credentials, devices, downloaded reports, and any copy of an output you choose to store elsewhere.

18. Your choices and privacy rights

Depending on where you live, applicable law may provide rights relating to personal information, such as the right to request access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or information about disclosures. Some rights may be subject to exceptions, identity verification, or legal retention requirements.

Privacy requests may be made through the account, product, or privacy-request mechanism made available by Klaritee. Klaritee may require reasonable verification before acting on a request and may retain information that must be kept for legal, security, fraud, accounting, or dispute-resolution purposes.

19. State and regional privacy laws

Privacy rights vary by jurisdiction. If a privacy law applicable to you gives rights beyond those described here, Klaritee will apply the rights and limitations required by that law.

Klaritee does not sell personal information for money and does not use submitted contract text to train a model. If Klaritee later introduces processing that is treated as “sale,” “sharing,” targeted advertising, or another specially regulated activity under an applicable privacy law, Klaritee may provide any notice or opt-out mechanism required before or when that processing begins.

20. International use

Focus may be accessed from locations where privacy and data-protection rules differ. If information is processed across jurisdictions, applicable service providers may process it in countries other than the country where you are located. You are responsible for determining whether your use of Focus is appropriate for documents subject to special localization, confidentiality, professional, or cross-border transfer requirements.

21. Children

Focus is not directed to children under 13, and Klaritee does not knowingly seek personal information from children under 13 through Focus. If Klaritee learns that such information was collected in a manner that requires deletion, it may take reasonable steps to delete it.

22. Changes to this Privacy Policy

Klaritee may update this Policy as Focus, its infrastructure, or applicable requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes may be presented through the website, product, account experience, or another reasonable notice mechanism.

23. Relationship to the Data Policy

The Data Policy (POOF) page describes the product philosophy and current contract-content handling model in plain language. This Privacy Policy provides the broader privacy framework for contract text, account data, usage records, billing records, technical information, service providers, retention, and privacy rights.

If product behavior materially changes, Klaritee should update the applicable policy language so that the public description continues to match the actual system.
